Slender full-height columns with capitals and a bracketed cornice on the front of a multi-storey government office.
Aayakar Bhavan is a multi-storey government office building in Kochi. Slender columns with capitals rise through several floors of its front, finished in a dark timber tone against the light cladding, in a style that recalls Kerala’s traditional timber buildings.
A projecting cornice carried on a row of brackets marks the lower floors. At the glazed entrance, pairs of the same columns stand under the canopy, beside a planted wall.
