KBN Hospital

Hospital, Kalaburagi, Karnataka

Arch-headed jali panels between the windows of a university hospital, and a matching jali-clad entrance gateway.

The hospital front, with arch-headed jali panels between the windows of both wings.
Jali panels on every floor of the side wing.
The entrance gateway, clad in matching jali.

Photographed during finishing, before the site was cleared.

KBN Hospital belongs to Khaja Bandanawaz University in Kalaburagi. Its long white front has a tall jali panel between each pair of windows, and every panel has a pointed-arch head, so the motif repeats across both wings and on every floor.

The same jali clads the frame of the entrance gateway on the approach road, which makes the gate and the hospital read as one design.

The photos were taken as the building was being finished, with scaffolding still on parts of the side wing.
